ARC Hub for Therapeutics joins stakeholder discussion on Ireland’s indigenous biotech future

Feb 3, 2026

On February 3rd, our Executive Director, Dr Araz Raoof, took part in a meeting with key stakeholders representing Ireland’s indigenous company community to discuss the future of homegrown biotech.

Ireland has established global strength in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The next opportunity is to grow a thriving indigenous biotech sector, underpinned by innovative ideas and world-class talent.

The ARC Hub for Therapeutics has an important role to play in supporting this ambition by helping translate publicly funded research into real therapeutic impact and by strengthening the pipeline from discovery to development and commercialisation.

There was strong consensus in the room that to reach its full potential, Ireland’s biotech ecosystem will require continued government support, smart policy frameworks, and sustained investment in innovative research.

Thank you to BiopharmaChem for organising the meeting, and to all participants for an engaging and productive discussion.
