To complement excellence in scientific research, successful commercialisation requires research teams to have a strong understanding of their target markets, the specific problems their technologies address, the competitive landscape, and the ability to communicate their value clearly and effectively.

To support this, the ARC Hub for Therapeutics partnered with the Pioneer Group to deliver an exclusive three-day, life science innovation focused workshop from 9 to 12th December 2025.
Hosted at the Pioneer Group’s dynamic incubator space in Cherrywood Campus, the workshop covered key concepts in lean start-up methodology and evidence-based entrepreneurship, along with practical tools such as the customer problem matrix, value proposition canvas, business model canvas, and insights into investor expectations and mindset.
The workshop was delivered by Pioneer Group’s Head of Ventures, Dr Ayokunmi Ajetunmobi, PhD and Programme Manager, Dr Adam Hardy, who have experience funding, scaling, and mentoring many life science companies in the UK and across Europe. Emma O'Neill, Life Science Case Manager at Trinity Innovation KnEx Knowledge Exchange, also delivered a session on intellectual property and research commercialisation.
The ARC Hub for Therapeutics is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
