Prof. Jakki Cooney is a Professor in Protein Chemistry at the University of Limerick and a member of the Bernal Institute, with over 35 years’ experience in molecular biology and protein chemistry. She co-founded Cala Medical a spin-out focussed on using enzymes as a treatment for sepsis. Her expertise spans translations protein biochemistry and therapeutic innovation.
