Prof. Kevin Kavanagh holds the Chair of Biological and Biomedical Science at Maynooth University. A microbiologist by training, he completed his PhD in Microbiology and leads research on fungal biology, antimicrobial agent development, and host-pathogen interactions. His group has published extensively in the fields of infection biology and translational microbiology, mentoring over 30 PhD students since the 1990s.
