This privacy policy explains how personal data is collected and used on therapeutics.archub.ie, the website of the ARC Hub for Therapeutics.

Who we are

The ARC Hub for Therapeutics is a national initiative hosted by Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, with University College Dublin and RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences as partner institutions. It is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the ERDF Southern, Eastern and Midland Regional Programme, under Research Ireland's ARC Hub Programme.

What we collect, and why

Newsletter subscriptions

If you subscribe to our updates, we collect your email address and any name you provide. We use this only to send you news about the ARC Hub for Therapeutics. Our newsletter is delivered using Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — for example which pages are read most, and whether people find what they came for. This is only enabled if you accept statistics cookies through our cookie banner. If you do not accept, no analytics data is collected about your visit.

Parts of this website are restricted to registered users. If you are given an account, we hold the account details you or your institution provide, and records of when you sign in. These are used only to operate and secure the restricted area.

If you contact us by email or through a form on the site, we keep your message and contact details so that we can respond and, where appropriate, keep a record of the enquiry.

Technical and security information

Like most websites, our servers automatically record limited technical information about each request, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site available and to protect it from abuse. It is not used to identify individual visitors.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

We use the following service providers, who process data on our instructions:

  • eConcepts (Dublin, Ireland) — website development, maintenance and technical support
  • Cloudways / DigitalOcean — website hosting and content delivery
  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) — newsletter delivery
  • Google — website analytics, web fonts and form spam protection

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, or may transfer data outside it. Where that happens, the transfer is made under the safeguards permitted by data protection law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

How long we keep it

Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a reasonable record of it. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in Google Analytics. Technical and security logs are kept for a short period only. Accounts for the restricted area are kept for as long as the account is active.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to:

  • ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to our use of it
  • receive certain data in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
