Prof. Fergal J. O’Brien is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation at RCSI and Head of the Tissue Engineering Research Group. His research lies at the intersection of bioengineering and regenerative medicine, focusing on advanced biomaterials for tissue repair and drug delivery. With over 300 publications and several patents, he is internationally recognised for his leadership in translational biomedical research. Professor O’Brien also chairs multiple research boards and is committed to advancing collaboration between academia, clinicians, and industry partners.
