Prof. John F. Gilmer is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences at Trinity College Dublin (TCD). His research centres on enzyme inhibitors, bile acid biology, and translational medicinal chemistry, particularly in liver disease and inflammatory conditions. He has published extensively (98+ peer-reviewed papers) and holds patents for therapeutic compounds. He also co-founded Solvotrin Therapeutics, bridging academic discovery and biotech innovation.
