Prof. Pat Guiry is a Full Professor of Synthetic Organic Chemistry at UCD and Director of the Centre for Synthesis & Chemical Biology. His research specialises in the design and application of chiral ligands for the development of catalytic asymmetric synthesis. His medicinal chemistry programme focuses on the design and synthesis of compounds that resolve inflammation and bacterial resistance. Prof Guiry also holds senior leadership roles in learned and professional chemistry societies, underscoring his impact in both academia and translational chemical biology.
Dual-Agonist Anti-Inflammatory Compounds
New approach to promote resolution of inflammation. Developed hybrid compounds that are dual agonists of FPR2 and GPR32.
